Originally from New Jersey, I moved to Massachusetts to attend Smith College. After an internship at the Daily Jolt (RIP), I decided Boston was where I wanted to be, and have been here ever since. I took a job at Boston University, which grew over the years to include graphic design, e-mail marketing, marketing strategy, and social media. While working at BU, I completed my Master of Science in Advertising.
In 2006, I helped found NO!SPEC, a site devoted to educating designers and clients alike to the dangers of speculative work. In 2007, I became a Visiting Author for Business of Design Online. My column, “Erin Reviews,” focused on reviews of design and design business books. I’m also a member of Creative Latitude, a worldwide, web-based community that unites various creative disciplines for collective promotion, education, and ethical business practice.
Currently, I am the Boston Chapter President of the Graphic Artist Guild, and I volunteer AIGA Boston as a reviewer at their annual student portfolio review. I’m also very proudly the only out-of-state member of the Devils Generals, a select group of two dozen of the most passionate and digitally-savvy New Jersey Devils fans. We help inform and engage the Devils’ fanbase through online social channels as the voice of the fans.
When I’m not geeking out over design and strategy, I can be found gardening, taking pictures, at the Garden watching hockey, or color-coding things.
